| 3/1/07 'WARNING"..... Exterior stucco staining usually starting at the bottom portion of your home is a natural warning sign that either your home has never been properly sealed or has been painted with the wrong product. Moisture that gets into your stucco from the soil or sprinklers and every day dampness is harmful to the long gevity of your stucco. When stucoo gets wet it breaks down to its original makeup which is just sand ,water, concrete, and a color additive.Stucco soaks up moisture like a sponge and can travel to the inside of your home and eventually creates mildew or worse mold.I always tell my clients to protect the exterior of there home with the product that will not allow this problem to re occur. Most of your house paints are none breathable and do not allow the walls to breathe so if there is underlying moisture that creats a seal on your stucco and can create more damage. When getting bids ask your potentiel contractor what he or she thinks and what they reccomend |
| 4/1/07 Hot tip of the month.............When getting estimates always ask to see workers comp certificates,Most consumers get confused between insurance and workers comp, there is no affiliation between the two.Never use a company that doesnt carry comp, even though the companies that carry it will be more expensive, that little extra cost can save you thousands if someone got hurt while working on your home. . |
